Brown was one of the six MSU football players that faced assault charges from the "tunnel" incident at Michigan Stadium after last fall's Michigan State @ Michigan football game.  He was put into a diversion program that would've allowed the charges to be dropped eventually.

However, his bond prevented him from committing a crime while going through the program.  With the new charges on Friday, Brown's diversion program ruling has been set aside and he will face a pretrial hearing regarding the assault charge this coming Monday in 15th District Court.  That's according to court records obtained by MLive.

An MSU spokesman said on Friday that Brown was dismissed from the football team back in <arch and has not been active during spring practice.

Brown has spent the last two seasons at MSU after playing his first college season at Minnesota (2020).  He was primarily a backup player on the D-Line.

If convicted on the felony gun charge, Brown could face up to five years in jail or a $25,000 fine.  If he's convicted on the misdemeanor charge, he could get up to 93 days in jail.

The MSU football team will have its final practice of the spring on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.  You can hear the broadcast of said practice/scrimmage on 1240 WJIM & 94.9 MMQ from 1:30pm-4pm.
