And while most major cities have the advantage of being able to blame heavy traffic for the disadvantage of being "hard to navigate", Detroit instead faces every other problem possible without the long delays.

And before you call me over dramatic- this week the team at wallethub released their list of best and worst cities to drive in, and Detroit nearly topped the list. Just, not the side we wanted.

They looked at the 100 biggest cities in the US and compared 30 different data points to come to the conclusion, including gas prices, traffic delays, and auto-repair shops per capita.

How bad is driving in Detroit?

Well, it depends on what you hate about driving. If you're not a fan of traffic, you're probably not going to see the complaints.

However, according to the data compared it seems Detroit has a lot of road maintenance issues, a high cost of owning a car compared to the cost of living, and a lack of places to get your car fixed when you do need to do so.

So while the act of driving down the road and getting from place to place isn't that bad itself, it's very expensive to drive there, and you may have to pay some extra repair bills due to the extra wear and tear your car receives in Detroit compared to other cities.

What is the worst city to drive in America?

Philadelphia. Turns out, they have all of Detroit's problems as well as adding the awful traffic that goes with living in a large city. So, if you're planning to travel, this is a city you'd probably want to avoid.
