One person is waking up to life-changing news this morning. Just one winning ticket was sold in last night's Powerball jackpot. The massive jackpot was the fourth largest in the game's history and the sixth largest prize in U.S. lottery history.

The winning ticket that matched all five numbers and the Powerball number was sold in Maryland. The winning numbers for the historic drawing are 40, 53, 60, 68, and 69, and the Powerball number was 22. One other Maryland resident matched enough numbers to score a $2 million win.

There were seven $1 million tickets sold, including one in Michigan. That winning ticket was sold at Vulcan A-mart Party Store in Vulcan. Vulcan is located just outside of Iron Mountain in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

"Wednesday’s drawing was the 36th drawing in the jackpot run that started back on Sept. 19, 2020," according to a Powerball press release. "The jackpot win in Maryland capped what has been has been the longest jackpot run in Powerball history."

The Powerball drawing came just one day after no one matched Tuesday's MegaMillions jackpot. That prize has now ballooned to $970 million.
