Book your reading time for "Paws to Read". Faith, a lovely golden retriever who is also a therapy dog, will be returning to the Lapeer District Library's Marguerite deAngeli Branch on West Nepessing Street in Lapeer starting Tuesday January 15, 2013.   Faith, who has been trained to listen to young readers, will be in attendance from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm on Tuesday afternoons. Fifteen minute appointments may be made with Faith by calling the children’s department at the library:  810-664-6971.

A new addition to the "Paws to Read" program is an Australian shepherd named Buck, who will be reading with children at the Hadley Branch Library at 3556 Hadley Road in Hadley on Saturdays from 10:30 am – 11:30 am.

Dogs provide a non-judgmental listener, entirely accepting audience that allows children to practice and become accomplished readers.”
