Circuit Court Judge Byron Konschuh is part of an investigation regarding financial irregularities within the Lapeer County Prosecutors Office during his tenure as prosecuting attorney. The investigation focuses on questionable handling of of incoming checks from a bad check recovery program.

It is reported that the prosecutors office contracted with a company called "BounceBack" to get people who had written bad checks in Lapeer County to make them good. A source close to the investigation said there were dozens of checks issued by BounceBack that they are unsure of where they were deposited.

The County administrator is following the information and awaiting the investigation to be completed.
