
Stone Soup Has Success During Hunger Awareness Week
You might have seen the brave men and women standing on the street corners collecting for the Stone Soup. I hope you donated. Lots of people did as they raised $9,500, enough money to help cover the expenses for three months of operation.
CEO Steve MacLeod was quoted as saying they had a "abundance of food" to help the hungry right here in Lapeer County. The Stone Soup is set up like a grocery store, Needy people choose what they want. There is also a mobile food pantry that helps service more than 6,000 people a month.
