Swartz Creek Schools Debuts Epic New School Closing Video ‘Due to Snow’
Swartz Creek's Ben Mainka and Jim Kitchen are at it again with another epic school closing video called 'Due to Snow.'
The district's superintendent of schools and the high school principal teamed up this time to create a parody of Adele's 'Hello,' placing the duo outside various buildings throughout the district.
"Hello from the other side,
I see you've called a thousand times,
To beg for a snow day, so we can sing our song,
It's a good idea, the forecast's playin' along."
The clip was released early this morning on Mainka's YouTube channel at about the same time many school districts in our area were canceling school due to deteriorating road conditions.
This isn't the first time the pair have released a parody video to announce that Swartz Creek schools are closed. Their renditions of 'Hallelujah,' the theme from 'Frozen,' and 'Snow Day Swagger' have put them in the national spotlight in the past couple of years.
The latest clip features scenes from some of their previous school-closing videos as well as footage from their 'Hometown Road - Back to School' project which was a parody of Lil Nas X's 'Old Town Road.' That video, used to welcome students back to school in the fall of 2019, also gained the two some national recognition.
