Police in Fenton are warning residents of a scam in which someone is going door-to-door in the Fenton area posing as an Animal Control officer inquiring about dog licences.
Lapeer County Animal Control Chief, Carla Frantz, resigned her position last week. Frantz, 43, hired into animal control in 1994. She began as a kennel officer, was promoted to road officer, and in May of 2012 she replaced Walt Rodabaugh as chief.
Since the calendar rolled over into 2014 there have been some changes at Lapeer County Animal Control. They are now open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. The shelter has never had weekend hours before. Now prospective pet owners and owners who need a license have more convenient times to get them.
