A benefit for Grace and Gerry Butterfield has been organized to help the family fight through the financial and emotion toll the accident on August 23rd created. Grace and Gerry were were victims of that horrible float accident that took one persons life and left multiple people severely injured.

You might have seen the brave men and women standing on the street corners collecting for the Stone Soup. I hope you donated. Lots of people did as they raised $9,500, enough money to help cover the expenses for three months of operation.

Last Tuesday the Lapeer Community Schools staff, students and supporters packed the Applebee's restaurant in Lapeer. The event was a special fundraiser for the Lapeer High School athletic program. Applebee's General Manager, John Perez unveiled the new Lapeer Lightning wall in the restaurant.
