Legendary electric guitar innovator Les Paul would have been 100 today, and his birth is being honored across the U.S. with a series of special events that will include appearances by some of the countless musicians he inspired.

Recording the new Chickenfoot album is on Joe Satriani's calendar. The guitarist has just finished a solo European tour, but he's also been working on new music for the Sammy Hagar-fronted group. 'Chickenfoot III' was released in September 2011.
'Sammy Hagar & Friends' might be the most guest star-studded rock records of the fall, and Hagar has just released the video for 'Knockdown Dragout,' which features Joe Satriani, Denny Carmassi, and Kid Rock.
