Lapeer High School Football rolls on tonight at home as the Lightning take on the Mt. Pleasent Oilers.

The Lightning will host Romeo Bulldogs tonight in a playoff game for the second season in a row but this time there’s more at stake with a district championship on the line.

Lapeer High School Lightning football team wrapped up the regular season with another victory beating Davison 47 to 7. The first play off game is Friday night at Lapeer with the Lightning taking on the Cardinals again.The Lightning Fans showed their support at Friday nights game in Davison becoming the largest visiting crowd on record.

A real nail bitter came down to the last minutes of the game for a Lightning win. Flint Carman-Ainsworth gave the Lightning a run for its money once again but Lapeer (8-0) still managed a win on Friday. Lapeer will go up against the Davison Cardinals next as the Lightning eyes its second-straight undefeated season.

The Lapeer Lightning came out on top when the two best teams in the Saginaw Valley League faced-off at Midland Community Stadium on Friday. With the win over the Midland, Lapeer clinches at least a share of the SVL Red Division title.

The Lightning continued their hot streak with a 47-6 win over the Lumberjacks Friday night. They move to 6-0 and qualify for the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) state playoffs.

Friday night the Lapeer High School Ligtning football team gave the Homecoming crowd with they were looking for another big win this time over Mt. Pleasant. Lightning-35 Oilers-14. The Lightning hit the road this Friday night with a trip to Saginaw Arthur Hill.

The Lapeer Lightning continued their winning streak Friday night with another big victory over Saginaw Heritage High School. The Lightning will be hosting Mt. Pleasant High School and celebrating Homecoming this Friday night and you can hear all the action here on US 103...

“We’re just trying to keep it moving” said Coach Mike Smith following his team’s victory last night. “Offensive line is playing well” he told M-Live. “Defense is getting better. We’re getting contributions at wide receiver. Across the board our team is playing well.
