Miguel Cabrera hit his 40th home run and had an RBI single to help “Super” Max Scherzer become baseball's first 18-game winner this season as the Tigers knocked off the Royals by a score of 6-3 Sunday afternoon.

Max Scherzer did something Tuesday night that a Detroit Tiger hasn’t done since Vern Kennedy did it in 1938. Max with the victory last night over the Kansas City Royals gives him a record 9-0. Max becomes the first Tigers starter to begin the season 9-0 since Vern Kennedy set the record 75 years ago.

Max Scherzer retired 22 straight batters after the first inning last night helping the Detroit Tigers capture a 5-1 victory over the first place Cleveland Indians. Max remains unbeaten so far this season.
