The 2016 Michigan Renaissance Festival prepares to finish strong with a slew of special events and themed weekends in the final month of the season at Holly Grove.

Tune in to my show tomorrow morning to hear my interview with Queen Elizabeth who’ll be judging the Men in Kilts Competition at the Michigan Renaissance Festival’s Highland Fling this weekend. Show off your tartan, watch a sheaf toss, hammer throw, stone put and a caber toss.

Auditions for the Michigan Renaissance Festival are happening this evening (5/14) from 6pm – 9pm and on Saturday (5/17) from 10am – 2pm. Auditions are held at the Michigan Renaissance Festival office next door to the festival grounds entrance on Dixie Highway.

Huzzah! Another season of medieval fun has come, and is almost gone.

This is the final weekend for this year's Renaissance Festival.  Many fans think it's the best one to attend, for a few reasons.  Most people have already gone to it so the crowds may be lighter (I wouldn't believe that for a second!) and some of the artists or eateries may offer deep discounts...

There are only two more weekends of the Michigan Renaissance Festival, so if you haven't gone yet, you may want to think about it!  This weekend's theme is Harvest Huzzah,with a big harvest market, wine tasting, the Royal Archery Tournament, the Beer Baron Brewing Brawl and so much more, including what's there every weekend ...

It will be the perfect weekend for hitting the Michigan Renaissance Festival, whether you dress up in period costume or come as you are - not too hot, not too cold!  Plus it's the popular "Shamrocks and Shenanigans" weekend!  Come eat, drink and wander ye merry old Hollygrove and check out the art shoppes, play games, see comedy stage acts and then eat and drink again...

Holly Grove in Holly, that is, where the Michigan Renaissance Festival is going full steam.  And if you like the heat, it will be steamy today.  91?  Yes, that's the high predicted this afternoon but remember, there is a lot of shade out there...
