With Halloween right around the corner you won’t want to miss exploring long-leggedy beasties and some of Seven Ponds Nature Center’s more unusual specimens tomorrow (10/25) at 2 PM. The crisp, cool air and vivid colors of autumn make this one of the most beautiful seasons to visit Seven Ponds in Dryden.

Check out live birds of prey, take a closer look at feathers and discover the wide variety of services they provide a bird with or get tips on attracting birds to your yard this winter at Seven Ponds Nature Center this Saturday (10/13) from 9 AM to 5 PM.

An escort along a lit trail to meet creatures of the nighttime forest awaits you at Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden tomorrow evening (10/3) from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. How about a walk in the forest of Jonathan Woods on Sunday (10/4) at 2 PM? The Enchanted Woodland is a non-scary, fun experience for children 4 years old and up and their adults as well as the young at heart.

Take one more walk through the prairie this Sunday (9/27) at 2 PM before winter’s harsh weather blankets Seven Ponds Nature Center. How about a Fall Bird Walk? The center’s second walk will take you to the Lapeer State Game Area next Wednesday (9/30) at 7:30 AM.

Get out to Seven Ponds this weekend (9/19, 9/20) for Heritage Harvest Days where you’ll find anything from a blacksmith exhibit, a sheep shearing demonstration and a bread and jam table to a Children’s Tent with old-fashioned crafts and games, horse drawn prairie wagon rides and tractors, antique cars and engines.

Want to perfect your J-stroke, search for fossils or explore a prairie while hearing chilling stories of yesteryear? You can do it all at Seven Ponds Nature Center. Hone your canoeing skills at an Adult Canoe Clinic this Saturday (8/15) from 10 AM – 4 PM. Adults only. Space is limited.

On Thursday (5/7) bring a journal, your favorite pen or pencil and color pencils and a camp stool if you like for Nature Journaling from 3 PM – 5 PM.

Search for sandhill cranes, ducks, swallows, eastern bluebirds, eastern towhees, blackbirds and more at Spring Bird Walk No.1 on Wednesday (4/22) at 8 AM at Seven Ponds Nature Center. All bird-watching levels are welcome. Bring binoculars, field guide and dress for the weather.
