Learn an old-fashioned way of decorating Easter eggs in Botanical Easter Eggs at Seven Ponds Nature Center tomorrow (3/28) from 10 AM – 12 PM. Wrapped in flowers and leaves and soaked in a natural dye, creating these beautiful eggs are sure to become a yearly tradition. Pre-registration is required. Ages 12

Canoe Clinic – Canvassing the Wood and Canvas Canoe is happening at Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden this Saturday March 28, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.The clinic instructor, Dave Wermuth, is a life time resident of Lapeer. Dave is a member of The Wooden Canoe Heritage Association and has been a wooden canoe owner since 1997. Dave has restored about 20 canoes, some over 100 years old.

Look and listen for signs of wildlife along the way and end your walk around a cozy fire. The fee for this program is $5 per person, $3 for members.

Seven Ponds Nature Center invites you and your family to figure out which tree is which now that most of the trees are bare during a nature walk this Sunday (11/30) at 2 PM. The cost of this program is the regular admission fee: $3.00 for adults, free for members and children 12 and under.

Seven Ponds Nature Center will be holding a Used Book Sale on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The sale will feature books on a variety of topics, including travel, sports, photography, crafts, cooking, medicine, and home repair. Many fiction titles by today’s popular authors will also be available.

Many years ago I planted Tansy seed, a perennial plant of the aster family not knowing it is invasive and a prohibited noxious weed in some states. Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden will be working on non-native invasive plants that are invading the nature center

This Sunday February 23, at 2:00 p.m. Seven Ponds Nature Center presents “Preservation & Action: A Lighthouse Program.” You’ll go on a tour of the Great Lakes wonderful lighthouses with author, photographer, and historian Jerry Roach.
