Parrish is a small town in Alabama that's having their annual barbecue cook-off and car show festival this weekend despite the horrible smell in the air. It's not BBQ gone wrong it's whats been labeled The Poop Train that's been parked in town at the rail yard for past couple of months.

The 2018 Parrish Coal Fest is the city's biggest event of the year and celebrates the towns coal mining heritage. According to AL.com, town officials say the smell emanating from several dozen shipping containers filled with sewage sludge from New York and New Jersey won't impact the event of the year.
Parrish Mayor Heather Hall said the cool weather has helped ease the smell coming from the cars. The mayor is quoted in the report "Oh my goodness, it's just a nightmare here," she said. "It smells like rotting corpses, or carcasses. It smells like death."
The residents of Parrish hope the material in the train cars is removed before the weather warms up.
