It’s hard to believe The Ramones never had a No. 1 hit. One of the greatest punk rock bands in the world performed over 2,000 live shows and on August 6, 1996, they played their final gig. They weren’t going out without a bang. The Ramones booked the Palace in Los Angeles and invited a Who’s Who of 90s rock. Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell and Ben Shepherd, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and Lars Fredericksen and Motörhead front man, Lemmy Kilmister, joined them on stage at various points throughout the 30+ song set. Their last show lives on in videos and an official album (although ‘We’re Outta Here!’ is currently out-of-print) and thanks to YouTube you can watch and listen to it right here:
