The Flint area's three television stations are teaming up to host a Congressional Town Hall this Thursday (5/7). ABC-12, TV-5, and our news partner Mid-Michigan Now will abandon their competitive ways to host the forum with State Representatives Dan Kildee and John Moolenaar.

Questions for the congressmen are welcome and can be submitted by emailing townhall@midmichigannow.com or by using the hashtag #MITownHall on various social media channels.

The congressmen are expected to discuss Michigan's soaring unemployment, the CARES act, and the steps Michigan will take to recover its stalled economy due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Town Hall broadcast will be hosted by Mid-Michigan Now Anchor Kristen Lowe, WJRT's Matt Franklin, and David Custer from WNEM.

This is the second time in as many weeks that the three stations have put aside their competitive difference in order to host a public town hall type broadcast. The stations joined forces last week for a three-way simulcast to host a town hall meeting featuring Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

This Thursday's program is expected to last one hour, however, all three stations plan to air only the first half-hour. At 7:30, the town hall will continue on each of the three TV stations' respective websites.
