Tropical Storm Isaac Forces Journey to Postpone Concert
Journey don’t want to go up against Isaac — Tropical Storm Isaac, that is — and the band has postponed their Tuesday performance (Aug. 28) in Lafayette, La. as a result.
The group stated, “Due to the terrible weather situation, we have had to postpone tomorrow’s show in Lafayette, La. We should have new date details for you before the end of today.”
Louisiana and much of the Gulf Coast are bracing for Isaac, which could reach hurricane status by the time it hits the coast early Wednesday. If it does arrive Wednesday, it would be seven years to the day that Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast area.
Even with the postponement, Journey do expect to make it to Tampa Thursday night, where they’ll join the Zac Brown Band performing at a private Republican National Convention event. A source told E! News that it was not believed to be an event to endorse a candidate or party, but a nonpartisan audience and one of many private events that Journey gets hired to do on occasion.
It was reported over the weekend that the group would receive a $500,000 payment for the performance.
