University of Michigan president Mark Schlissel (pictured above) announced on Monday that the school will allow students back on campus for the fall semester.

Classes are set to begin on August 31st and will run through Thanksgiving week.  Following the Thanksgiving break, classes will be held online until the end of the fall semester in December.

Schlissel had said previously that fall sports would not happen unless students were attending classes on campus.

The Michigan football team's voluntary workouts began last week and are ongoing this week in Ann Arbor.
