WATCH: Michigan Student Finds Out He's Going to Nursing School

Ben Lubitz has been trying to get into nursing school for years.

He's a senior at Grand Valley State University in Allendale and a basketball player. He was at practice when his coach broke the news to him, and the moment was caught on video and has gone viral.

His coach says, "When I was your age, I knew to be a coach. I feel very fortunate that I kind of always knew what I wanted to do, so I feel very fortunate. Hopefully some of you guys have the same goals in mind."

He then asks the players what they want to do when they grow up. When he gets to Ben, Ben says he wants to be an RN. And that's when his coach tells him the news - he's been accepted to GVSU's nursing program.
