George Harrison's posthumous induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 brought friends and collaborators together on stage for 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' – but it was fellow inductee Prince who stole the show.

Associated more with funk, R&B, soul, psychedelia and pop than rock, Prince's two minute guitar solo at the end of the tribute turned out to be possibly the single greatest musical moment at any induction ceremony in the history of the hall. Prince later claimed he had never even heard the song before it was sent to him to learn for the performance.
