Board games and puzzles were a big hit (because there was absolutely nothing else to do) during the pandemic. In February I told you about a knock off Monopoly game about Burton called Burton Opoly and now there is also a Lapeer Opoly you can play.

I think this whole idea is super clever. It is fun to play a game that involves your hometown, city, or the place you call home now. I do have the Burton Opoly game thanks to my friend Veronica, and I am definitely down to play Lapeer Opoly too.

There is one thing that people who have purchased Lapeer Opoly have noticed - there is a typo on the game board. As you can see in the picture above, The Lightening (as in the Lapeer Lightning football team) is misspelled. The board should read 'The Lightning', there is no 'e' required. Whoops!

Some people on social media seem to think the typo will make the game worth more in the future. I don't know anything about that sort of thing, but it does make for great conversation.

If you are interested in getting your hands on a Lapeer Opoly game, you can purchase one at the Lapeer Walmart. I plan on grabbing one this weekend if they don't sell out before I can get there.

Anyone who has played Monopoly knows it is not a fast game. Do not start Monopoly, Burton Opoly, or Lapeer Opoly if you don't have 5 hours to kill (and a lot of of booze).
