‘You’re Not My Real Mom!': The Joys of Being a Stepmom [GALLERY]

"You're not my real Mom." Yep, that's one of the many shocking phrases that will come out of that perfect little angel's mouth that isn't 'technically' yours.

Sometimes, being a stepmom can be, well, a practice in patience in all areas of your life. As far as my experience, with my soon to be stepson, Declan, there has been many times where I wonder, "what did I get myself into?" and "I can't imagine not having him in my life" in the the same thought.

Please understand that when I was growing up, I was never that little girl that had a baby doll or dreamed about having a child of my own. To be honest, childbirth scares the living crap out of me! I have no idea how my Mom did it, it seems super unpleasant to me. So, I knew that maybe being a Mom was not going to be in the cards for me. Then I met my fiance, Mark and his son Declan. It was all over, I was gonna' be a Stepmom.
