Van Halen Kicks Into Gear 35 Years Ago

On this day in 1978, one of rock and roll's greatest debut albums Van Halen's self-titled album enters the music charts. The collection will end up selling at least 10 million copies.

Rock critics at the time greeted the album with negative reviews.  Rock dogs nationwide loved what they heard. Take a listen to the first track "Runnin' with the Devil", that VH1 called the 9th greatest hard rock song of all time.
