It's rare that drummers ever express interest in creating their own music, so ex-Free and Bad Company stick man Simon Kirke's latest interest is, well ... interesting.  He's doing just that with the upcoming "Filling The Void" project.  He says on his website, "I've been writing songs for many, many years and I just wanted to get them out, like an exorcism," Kirke says. "That was the primary reason for doing it and on the way [these songs] started to become something more than I thought they would."

Word has it his music resembles a Jackson Browne style, unlike what you would expect.
