What would you do if the vet lost your dog? When a 3-year-old German shepherd under the care of Wilson Veterinary Hospital in Washington Township was allowed to escape, her owners hired Pet Search & Rescue Investigations at a cost of $2,200. Asti, who travelled over 14 miles in the 2 weeks she was missing from the facility at 12000 Dunham Street in downtown Romeo, was found safe near Lake Orion. The search for Asti was so extensive, it was even covered by WDIV-TV in Detroit. Because the hospital never issued a statement, it’s not known if practice owner John Wilson DVM reimbursed the owners for the cost of the search team, if his hospital has lost dogs in the past or if he has additional safeguards planned to keep animals from running away from his facility in the future.
