The investigation into possible financial irregularities in the Lapeer County Prosecutor's Office could offer a decision this week from Shiawassee County Prosecutor Deanna M. Finnegan.

Finnegan has received a rough draft of the investigation by the Michigan State Police concerning the handling of checks from a company called "BounceBack". The investigation centers around former Lapeer County Prosecutor Byron Konschuh's handling of those checks.

There was an investigation that began in February when staff asked the newly-appointed Prosecutor Tim Turkelson what to do with the incoming checks. Sources close to the investigation said there were dozens of checks that were issued by BounceBack to the county that appeared unaccounted for.

"The final report will be very big" claimed Finnegan, who expects a final decision by July 4th
