Memorial Day Festivities In The Neighborhood

Monday “Memorial Day” in Lapeer, there will be a parade downtown starting at 11 a.m. along Nepessing Street ending with a memorial service in Veterans Park, across the street from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Lapeer V.F.W. on Daley Road offers a free lunch for veterans and their families after the ceremony.

Superintendents Close Schools in Lapeer and Genesee Counties – Now Through Friday

Shooting Threat Closes Cass City Schools [VIDEO]

After the tragic school shooting in Connecticut on Friday, a school in Michigan has closed its doors until 2013. Over the weekend, school officials in the Cass City school district learned of threats made by a student to "shoot up the school." This prompted the district to cancel all classes from Monday through Wednesday.
