If there were some security weaknesses in credit cards do you think the credit card companies would spend money on fixing the problem, or keeping it a secret? If you guessed the latter, you would be correct.

While RFID technology has its advantages, it's also very easy to hack into.  The long-running science show "Mythbusters" was all prepped and ready to do a show underlining the weak security behind RFID technology, but it looks like that is an episode you will never see according to a recent report.

According to Mythbuster Adam Savage, it was "American Express, Visa, Discover, and everybody else... [who] absolutely made it really clear to Discovery that they were not going to air this episode."

Knowing that the credit card companies are well aware of the potential security risks and choose to keep us in the dark doesn't sit well with me.  I think it would make for a great episode for the popular TV show.  But, because it's an ad-supported network, Discovery Channel complied with the team of lawyers and agreed not to move forward with the episode.
