There has been bad blood between original CCR members for years. John Fogerty, who was the bands guiding light during their 60's and 70's peak years, even sued his former band mates Stu Cook and Doug Clifford to stop them from touring as CCR. That's when the "Revisited" moniker was added and the boys pressed on. For some reason, it's become a popular annual concert draw. I've never understood that and I've never went to see them. A Fogerty sound alike? Please.

Now, just this week actually, Fogerty is saying that his anger toward the boys has dissipated, and his attitude on the whole thing has mellowed. Here is one of his quotes he gave to the Calgary Herald:

“Years ago, I looked at people and I was so full of some sort of emotion and I’d say, ‘Absolutely not! I have to admit, people have asked me more recently, and even though I have no idea how such a series of events would come to pass, I can tell that there isn’t the bombast in my voice, in the denial, in the refusal. It’s more like, ‘Well, I dunno.’ Never say never I guess is what people tell you. In this life, all kinds of strange things come to pass. Realizing that it doesn’t really kick up a big firestorm of emotion, it kind of suggests that at least if someone started talking I’d sit still long enough to listen.”

Surprising. Fogerty has become a very successful and respected solo artist over the years and certainly doesn't need CCR. But wow! I think such a reunion would be monumental. That band's music is still massively popular, is requested all the time, and just doesn't sound dated. We'll certainly keep you updated on this one!
