The Tigers made a deal on Wednesday for relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. “The Tigers have given me this opportunity and I take it with a lot of pride” Rodriguez said. “It’s something that me and my family are looking forward to.” The Brewers will get minor league infielder Javier Betancourt and a player that’ll be named later. “K-Rod is a perennial All-Star closer, has pitched on a World Series championship team and is someone who will provide experience at the back end of our bullpen” said Tigers general manager Al Avila.
