Many kids and adults love social media with some more than others. If you don't believe me, next time you are in public where there are people sitting around, look to see who is messaging on their phones and you may be surprised at what you see.

There are lots of good reasons for people to be messaging on their phones. Communicate with family, friends, school, and even work. Still, some people take some of the social media sites way too far and it becomes a part of their life even to the point they get addicted to it.

Internet trolls and creepy individuals on social media can also present a problem. Many harass, tease, and sometimes even drive a person to want to commit suicide and that is not a good thing.

Trolls and large companies prey on the vulnerability of young people on social media. What the social media companies don't tell you is, that teenagers who spend too much time on social media have a higher risk of mental health problems.

FOX 17 also reported that the daughter has been using Instagram heavily for three years and the lawsuit is claiming she has injuries that include, but are not limited to, anxiety, attempted suicide, attempted self-harm, self-harm, and body dysmorphia.

The lawsuit also states that neither the mother nor the daughter was aware of how clinically addictive and mentally harmful effects of using Instagram before using the product.

A judge will have to decide if Meta and Instagram are guilty as charged. This will be a tough case going against such a powerful company and its attorneys.  If the mother prevails, this could definitely open the door to more cases of this nature.
