As reported but not confirmed until now, Ford Motor Company made the announcement on Thursday that they plan to cut their workforce by 10% beginning in June.

The second largest automaker in the United States will be cutting 1,400 jobs in North America and the Asia Pacific. The company currently has around 30,000 salaried workers in the United States, but will begin buyout packages to eligible employees beginning in June.

Product Development, Ford Credit, Plant manufacturing, IT, and Global Data and Analytics will not be affected by the job cuts.
