It could be a long, tough summer on the M-24 corridor. The reconstruction is gearing up to begin in May. Utility relocation projects are already underway to prepare for the activity.

A collection of residents and business owners, totaling more that 75 people, attended meetings conducted by the Michigan Department of Transportation about the specifics of the major construction project, and how it will affect travel for the thousands of people who use M-24 as a route to work or home.

Construction will begin on the northbound lanes of M-24 begi9nning at Tower Street, just south of the Muir Funeral Home and moving north to Nepessing Street through the summer construction season.

Get ready Lapeer, it's coming soon!
