The Flint Firebirds have posted victories in six of their past eight games and look to continue their winning-ways tonight when the club hosts in-state rival, the Saginaw Spirit for the final time this season.
Along with Wednesday being the final College Night ($2 Beers & $2 Hot Dogs) of the season, fans are encouraged to stay after the conclusion of the game to witness the I-75 Divide Cup Ceremony. The I-75 Divide Cup is awarded to the team that wins a best-of-eight series between the two clubs throughout the regular season. The Firebirds earned the I-75 Divide Cup for the second consecutive season, posting five wins in seven games this campaign.
Wednesday night's contest also marks the first time that fans in Flint can witness the Firebirds clinch a spot in the 2017 playoffs. With six games remaining in the season, the Firebirds are in seventh-place in the Western Conference and have a 12-point lead on 9th-place Saginaw. Just one point earned by the Firebirds or one point lost by Saginaw in the next six games would lead to the Firebirds clinching their first-ever position in the OHL Playoffs.

Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. at the newly renovated Dort Federal Event Center in Flint.
