Bob Dylan's early back up band became known as "The Band", both around inner circles and professionally.  Their debut album, without Dylan (although he wrote 3 of the songs and illustrated the album's cover), was released in 1968 under the name Music From Big Pink; due to the fact they recorded it in a large house with pink siding, that the guys were renting at the time.  It became a highly inspirational album for many artists and was The Band's peak.  We're getting into it for a rare spin on today's vault, 5:20pm.  Out of town?  Listen live on-line.
