Earlier today we heard the news that 'Parks and Recreation' guest actor Lucy Lawless would return for the upcoming season 6 premiere, but the series may have a much bigger spot to fill that originally thought. New reports making the round suggest that series regulars Rob Lowe (Chris Traeger) and Rashida Jones (Ann Perkins) will depart the series.

News of Lowe's and Jones' departures originates from BuzzFeed, who claims to have confirmed with multiple sources that both actors will leave the series in the thirteenth episode of the upcoming season, though NBC and reps for either actor have yet to issue comment. BuzzFeed suggest that the exits could take place during February sweeps, and potentially involve the ongoing babymaking story between the pair.

Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the news that the pair will indeed depart as listed. Lowe had originally joined the NBC series in a guest role with Adam Scott in season 2, before both were upgraded to regular. Jones has been part of the series since the very beginning.

Even so, ‘Parks and Recreation’ season 6 will at least feature guest stars Sam Elliott, supermodel Heidi Klum, Kristen Bell, and Henry Winkler as Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz)’s father. The hour-long September 26 premiere will venture to London largely to accommodate star Chris Pratt’s shooting role in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.'

We'll keep you posted on the latest news of Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones' exits from 'Parks and Recreation' season 6, but what say you? Is this literally the worst news ever?
