Paul McCartney Considering Mark Ronson to Produce Next Album

Paul McCartney may be starting to think about new music after issuing the ‘Kisses on the Bottom’ album earlier this year. According to NME (via the Sunday Mirror), he may already have his producer picked out.

A source told the paper that Mark Ronson may be the man to take on the next release. The source stated, “This week they went to the studio and started knocking about together to see what they can do together. Everybody’s really excited about the prospect of Mark working with Paul.”

Ronson won the 2008 Grammy Award for Producer of the Year for his work on records from Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, and more recently is credited with Duran Duran reviving their ’80s feel on their ‘All You Need is Now’ album.

Ronson reportedly struck up a friendship with McCartney that resulted in his DJing the singer’s wedding to Nancy Shevell last year. The source added, “Paul respects Mark’s knowledge and is wanting to produce a classic album with a young hip edge. And obviously Mark is over the moon to be working with a Beatle.”

Considering the timing of the news, it is not known if Ronson is joining McCartney for a full record or if he’s part of McCartney’s recent work with video game studio Bungie.
