Psychedelic Rolling Stones? They Were in 1967 – Today’s Vault

A lot of bands in the late 60′s were inspired by ‘Sgt. Peppers’, including The Rolling Stones.  They released ‘Their Satanic Majesties Request‘ right at the end of the summer of love.  This means during 1968 it was the “latest” Stones album, seeming very dated, even then.  It was a career misstep, both timing and style.  1968 wasn’t about flowers and the Stones just weren’t a psychedelic act!  The album has gained respect over the years though, and has become thought of by many fans as some of their more interesting work.  ’2000 Light Years From Home’ is certainly a highlight from it, and it get’s rolled on today’s Vinyl Vault.  Out of town?  Listen live on-line.
