Rangers Score Four In 11th To Push Tigers To Brink
Mike Napoli singled in the go-ahead run and Nelson Cruz followed with a three-run homer in the 11th inning as the Texas Rangers beat the Tigers, 7-3 at Comerica Park to go ahead three-games-to-one in the A.L. Championship Series. Brandon Inge hit a game-tying home run in the seventh inning, but Detroit was limited to five total hits by six Texas pitchers. Jose Valverde worked a perfect 10th inning, but ran into one-out problems a frame later and took the loss. Cruz also cut down Miguel Cabrera at the plate with what would have been the go-ahead run to end the eighth inning.
Game Five is today at 4:19 p.m. Justin Verlander on the mound.
