On March 6, 7, and 8th the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 287 of Lapeer County will be hosting a 50th Anniversary of Vietnam Commemorative event. This is event is being held at the American Legion Post 16, on West Genesee in Lapeer, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.This event is to honor Vietnam Veterans and their families and show appreciation and solemnity of war and the losses suffered by many. If you are a Vietnam Veteran please consider attending. The Lapeer Veterans Administration will be present with informational material

The theme is Remembering Vietnam. The Quilt of Tears (Agent Orange) will be on displayed all three days. There will also be a POW/MIA ceremony held daily along with Marty Eddy, Michigan Chapter President of The League of Families POW/MIA. The sole purpose of the League is to obtain the release of all prisoners and the fullest possible accounting for the missing and return of all recoverable remains of those who died serving our nation during the Vietnam War.

The Frankenmuth Military Museum, The Daughters of the American Revolution along with many other interesting and educational displays of the Vietnam War era will be displayed.
