Rod Stewart To Become Sheriff — For A Day

Rod Stewart will soon have a new title -- sheriff -- but it's only temporary.  Forbes.com says the rocker was among those in attendance at the Palm Beach Policemen's Ball, a South Florida fundraiser for the local police.At the event the Rod was one of three winning bidders to become "sheriff for one day," paying 18-thousand-dollars for the opportunity.  During his day as sheriff Rod will check out the county jail, meet with crime scene investigators and the local SWAT team, and take a ride in the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office's helicopter.  He'll also have lunch with Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.  No date has been given for Stewart's day as sheriff.
