The Perseid meteor shower peaked this morning but you still have a chance to see it. A good number of meteors should be visible through August 24 although you’ll see fewer after the peak. With the New Moon tomorrow morning, you’ll have a near moonless night tonight without moonlight to interfere with your viewing. The best hours are 11 PM – 4:30 AM EST. Look to the northeast. In case you miss it, here is footage of star trails captured at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore during the Perseid meteor shower in 2012.
