You just never know what kind of gems you are going to find in Detroit.

I'm a huge fan of restorative projects. So, when I came across this video from Curbed Detroit, I was super pumped about it. This project involves so majestic and full of art deco goodness, the David Stott Building in Detroit.

I did a little digging on Wikipedia to learn more about the David Stott Building on 1150 Griswold Street, and here's what I learned. Not only was this building completed in June of 1929, it is the fourth tallest skyscraper in Detroit. Also, due to the Great Depression, the David Stott Building was the last skyscraper to be built in Detroit until the mid-1950s.

According to the video, the building is set to be reopened by the Fall of 2018. I am looking forward to taking a trip to check it out once it is all restored.
