The members of Aerosmith may have engaged in a war of words during their long layoff, with the most recent battle coming during a profile on ‘60 Minutes.’ However, a video shot before the band’s first concert of their ‘Global Warming’ tour shows Steven Tyler engaged in some good old-fashioned chop-busting on bassist Tom Hamilton.
Saturday night Aerosmith kicked off their ‘Global Warming Tour’ in Minneapolis, Minn. The band kicked off the tour at the Target Center and the fans weren’t disappointed. The show was sold out and full plenty of energy.
The season finale of ‘American Idol‘ will feature a performance from judge Steven Tyler‘s full-time band. According to Joe Perry, the rockers will debut the first single from their upcoming new album during the May 23 Fox broadcast.
Resident rocker Juliet Simms, who sounds like a young Janis Joplin thanks to her whiskey-soaked, smoky pipes and the fact she pretty much oozes buckets of confidence, ripped through Aersomith‘s ‘Cryin” on tonight’s (April 23) quarterfinal performance episode of ‘The Voice.’ She was the last contestant to perform and she brought the house down.
The ongoing sessions for a new album and the occasional dramatic moment won’t keep Aerosmith away from their natural habitat – the concert stage. The legendary Boston rockers have reportedly confirmed their first North American tour date for 2012.
Now that Aerosmith have finally gotten down to the business the music do the talking on their long awaited new album, it’s sounding more and more like it has the legs to be a future classic. Additionally, it’s possible that ‘Smith vocalist Steven Tyler might draw on a surprising collaborator for some lyrical assistance.
Are Aerosmith going retro on their new album, the as-yet-untitled platter that’s due to surface later this year? If ’Smith guitarist Joe Perry‘s recent comments are any indication of the direction the album is taking, that question could be answered with a resounding “yes.”
