Spring is right around the corner and so is breeding season for pets. Have a dog, a cat or maybe even a barn cat that needs to be fixed? Take advantage of Paradise Animal Rescue's low cost spay and neuter program this month. The cost is $40 for cats/kittens, $80 for dogs/puppies.

Feeding stray cats? Get outdoor cats fixed and vaccinated for FREE at All About Animals Rescue! April only. Call 586-879-1745. Need your dog or cat spayed or neutered? AAAR will be picking up pets at the Flint Petco (3/31, 4/6, 4/15, 4/27), Almont Family, Farm & Home (4/20) and Paradise Animal Rescue (4/27).

The All About Animals Rescue transport vehicle will safely pick-up your dog or cat in the morning at the Flint Petco (3/15, 3/23 & 3/30), the Almont Family, Farm & Home (03/16) or Paradise Animal Rescue (3/27), fix and return them the next morning. You need an appointment. Cats are $40, dogs are $80.

All About Animals Rescue, dedicated to “No More Homeless Pets,” has the largest high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Michigan. They’re offering a $20 cat spay special for the month of February. Space is limited. Over the weekend I dropped off and picked up one of my cats at the TSC in Imlay City. With the help of Paradise Animal Rescue, he was transported to the All About Animals Rescue’s high quality/low cost spay and neuter clinic in Warren, examined before surgery by and neutered by a licensed veterinarian.

October 29, has been set aside to honor cats and the love and friendship they give to their owners. This week is Cat Adoption Week at Lapeer County Animal Control. Until this Saturday November 1st, the county has waived the adoption fee for all cats and kittens. $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required if not altered.

National Dog Day is a celebration to show our love for these beautiful creatures. The day also serves to help to draw the public’s attention to the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives keep us safe and bring comfort.

Paradise Animal Rescue on M-24 just south of Barnes Lake Road has new area set up in the facility Nikki’s Cat Nook in memory of Nicole Alexandra Yungbluth from Metamora.  Nikki loved all animals and volunteered at PAR after graduating from Lapeer West High School in 2005 and passed away when she was 25.

Here’s the latest update on Paradise Animal Rescue’s “Project Warm Paws” gala fundraiser themed “Just Another Day in Paradise” happening on Saturday March 22nd at The Lapeer Country Club. New this year the St. Martin villa - "Joie de Vivre" will be available as a raffle. Tickets are currently on sale for $100 a piece
