The Wienermobile Hits The Road

This is a big day in Hot Dog history. It was July 18, 1936 that Carl Mayer, nephew of Oscar Mayer, invented the Wienermobile.

The first Wienermobile rolled out of General Body Company’s factory in Chicago. The Wienermobile tours around the U.S. as it promotes the famous Oscar Mayer wiener.Today there are six of the hot dog cars touring the nation.

For those of you who have never seen it - it’s a giant hot dog on wheels - there’s just no other way to describe the Wienermobile.
