Don't be surprised if you see a convoy of US Army vehicles on I-69 this summer. They'll be testing computerized communication used in autonomous vehicles.“This is the first time these tests are being done on a highway” said Doug Halleaux with the US Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center. The stretch of I-69 in Lapeer and St. Clair counties was chosen because of relatively light traffic and its proximity to TARDEC’s headquarters at the US Army Detroit Arsenal in Warren. Officials will meet with residents this Monday (5/23) in Imlay City at 10 AM and 1 PM in Capac to provide information on the project.
