Westboro To Picket Boston Marathon Funerals – Sign The Petition Here To Stop Them [NSFW]

YouTube

As a Christian, I grew up with the mindset that we shouldn’t judge others… that’s God’s job. But the members of Westboro Baptist Church must be reading a different Bible than the rest of us. They seem to think that their beliefs justify their outlandish hatred and protests, such as picketing the funerals of our soldiers and the Sandy Hook Victims.

Now, they claim that God sent the bombs to Boston because Massachusetts was the first state to legalize gay marriage and are planning to picket the funerals of those killed at the Boston Marathon on Monday.

In a press release sent via Twitter, the church said:

“GOD SENT THE BOMBS! How many more terrifying ways will you have the LORD injure and kill your fellow countrymen because you insist on nation-dooming filthy [gay slur] marriage?! … Massachusetts invited this special wrath from God Almighty when it was the FIRST STATE to pass same-sex marriage.”

When will this end? Why haven’t these people been stopped? I always thought a church was made up of members who love to love one another in fellowship and spreading the word of God. These people love to hate, love to judge, and love to make a bad situation worse ten fold.

But while they have attempted to stir up trouble, there are those who heroically stand against them. When WBC announced plans to picket the funeral of Lt. Col. Roy Tisdale in July of last year, more than 500 students from the school he attended made a human chain intended to block any member of Westboro from interfering with the service. Church members got wind of this and basically wimped out.

To prevent the church from interfering with the victims of Sandy Hook, internet “hacktivists” known as Anonymous posted the location of the Motel 6 where members of WBC were staying and yet another human shield was formed to prevent them from leaving the motel to allow the funeral services to proceed uninterrupted.

Now, Anonymous has sent a message to the church via their Twitter account:

“Dear @WBCSays, I wouldn’t [expletive] with the people of Boston when they’re mad. #BostonBeatDown.

There is a We The People petition on the White House website looking to ban the WBC protests. So far there are over 18,000 signatures out the 100,000 needed by May 15th. I was the 18,465th person to sign the petition. You can sign the petition here.
